Milena Govich

 

Milena Govich (Serbian born on 29 October 1976) is an American actor as well as a director, singer and dancer most well-known for her role as NYPD Detective Nina Cassady on the television series Law & Order.



 



 Education and early life



 Govich was born Norman, Cleveland County in Oklahoma. The late Dr. Bruce Michael Govich who passed away in 1998, and Dr. Marilyn Green Govich[2] were her parents. Marilyn currently teaches voice and Bruce worked as a professor at the University of Oklahoma. Her mother is an English speaker and her father is Serbian. The aunt of her, Milica Govich, is also an actress who has been on Broadway as well as on television and film.



 



 Milena was a graduate of Norman High School in 1995 as the class valedictorian. Following her academic parents, she graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1995 as valedictorian. She was awarded a double-degree in premedical as well as performance studies, along with a minor in violin and dance. Govich at the time of her graduation relocated to New York City in pursuit of acting opportunities.
